Enact were thrilled to be short-listed for an award in the Category of Commitment to Training and Development at the prestigious HullBID Awards 2019.
Expertly led by Nicola Sleath, Training Manager at enact, the Training Team have successfully delivered five comprehensive intakes of candidates in enact’s Hull office, over an eight month period. Developing staff is integral to enact’s success, which is why we operate an innovative training academy. This is a ground breaking initiative where staff receive academic training, alongside invaluable on the job learning whilst working for enact. We are renowned within the industry for our comprehensive and complete training programmes.
The HullBID awards launched back in 2013 and, as described by Kathryn Shillito- the Executive Director of HullBID, the ceremony started off as a “sandwiches and crisps get together at Hull Truck Theatre” but this year’s event was a far cry from this. Over 240 guests arrived on the red carpet at the iconic Hull Minster, to a glitzy drinks reception followed by a 3 course meal. Finalists enjoyed music from past X factor contestants and Hull’s very own, Tre Amici, which was a particular highlight and very fitting in such a grand setting.
Over 400 nominations were received across the 10 different categories and an independent panel of judges had the difficult task of whittling them down to just 3 finalists in each category, after hours of deliberation. Whilst we didn’t win the award on the night – being pipped to the post by worthy competitors Tapasya@Marina – it was great for the excellent work of Nicola and her dedicated team to be recognised and also provided excellent exposure for the business, as relative newcomers to the Hull business world.
A fantastic night was had by all!
