Easter fundraiser for Dove House Hospice

This year we have chosen to support both St Gemma’s in Leeds and Dove House Hospice in Hull.

Dove House has been caring for people in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire for almost 40 years, whether that be providing care for people at the end of their lives, providing therapies to help those with life limiting illnesses and improve their quality of life or giving much needed bereavement support to grieving families. Dove House also provided exceptional care for one of our own colleagues.

Hospice care is a core part of the health provision in the region, Dove House currently employs over 300 people and is supported by over 1200 volunteers. A 10 year plan is underway to expand Dove House and secure its future, so community fundraising is vital.

We recently held an Easter fundraiser in our Hull Office, to raise funds for Dove House Hospice.

As always, we had a great turn out of enthusiastic bakers and even more enthusiastic eaters who were eagerly awaiting the opening of the bake sale, once the judging was complete. The winner of the bake off just pipped the other bakers to the post, taking the coveted title of “Star Baker” with her delicious Malteser millionaires shortbread.

Alongside the bake off, we also ran a guess the name of the bunny competition and a guess the number of mini M&Ms in the jar (2941 to be precise!)

The event raised a grand total of £194.00 for Dove House and a great day was had by all.

We look forward to sharing our progress throughout the year but for now, if you would like to donate, please visit our Just Giving page.
